Those are really cool. Great picture!

Gorgeous shots!!! And I’m so excited to see them…do you have any idea what the name of those flowers are? I’m assuming “balls” is not their real name. ;) We have some of those in our garden, or at least something really similar, and we haven’t been able to find out what they are. (We call them fireworks flowers.)

  3. Omom Says:

Hahaha!!! I thought you grew real balls! ;-)

  4. Mojo, NC, USA Says:

Okay, those are just odd looking. Neat, but odd.

  5. JMom Says:

    Thanks, Rana.

Hi Debi, thanks! These are Leeks flowers. The onions put out similar flowers too but smaller. They’ll drop their seeds soon, just in time for the next crop of leeks in the fall.

Omom, I do have real balls. I just didn’t grow them. LOL! :D

  6. JMom Says:

Thanks, Mojo. They’re very photogenic though, don’t you think?

    Beautiful flowers and shots.

Be sure to join me on Thursday for the first official Then and Now Thursday. This meme is a chance to look back at how life has changed over the years.

Nice photos & great dof. Thanks for dropping by site. I got that shot by using a higher shutter speed 1/200 with the aid of the flash.

Happy WW!What were the balls? Not sure of that plant, almost looks like the dandelion right before they blow in the wind. I can see it isn’t though. Oh BalletGirl says thank you.

Looks like ornamental onions. I have seen them 4-5 feet tall.
Ornamental Onion is a part of the Allium family, it’s close relatives include the familiar grocery store onion, garlic, shallot, chives, and leeks.
I have a clump of chive I grow just to let flower every year. A soft purple (lavendar) colour that adds to the vegetable garden.
